Monday Musings

I conquered my trepidation from this morning. I had some stress with my dad over the weekend, but I was able to vent to a co-worker today and I feel better now. I've seen some interesting stuff on the internet today. I saw that Gwen Stefani was nominated for several MTV Video Awards, for Hollaback Girl. I am shocked. Only Gwen could pull off a song that dumb I guess. Lance Armstrong won the Tour de'France. Like I could leave out something like that. It's like you have to mention it. I saw him imply to Ann Curry (whom I love) on The Today Show that he wants to run for governor of Texas in the future. I get the distinct feeling he would win that election, governator-style. After work I saw the most racist commercial I've ever seen. It was a Burger King commercial where these 4 ghetto-fabulous superheroes save the "hood" from the "old way of eating chicken." Yes, it used those words. It was what Dave Chappelle calls "so racist you aren't even offended. Just shocked." Otherwise it's been a pretty boring day. I am starting Weight Watchers tomorrow to get my figure back. That sounds weak, I know, but I think it will really help me lose the weight and get healthy again. I need that kind of structure and support. So I will probably be writing about that. Hopefully I will meet some nice people there. It's rough being relatively alone in a big city. It's hard to meet people that you really connect with. And I am not interested in cheap relationships anymore. Of any kind. Because one day you might wake up and they might all be gone, then what will you do?
